Who Are We?

 

This is a Catholic Organization dedicated to serve the needs of the developmentally challenged for the past 45 years.  The Caravan is open to all Catholics over the age of 18.

We are registered with Revenue Canada as a charitable corporation and, therefore, can give Income Tax receipts for donations.  To donate click here:

Company history
 
The International Order of Alhambra was founded in Brooklyn, NY in 1904.
 
The Algarva 168 Caravan was formed in 1967 and has 57 members who dedicate their work to serving the needs of the developmentally challenged in our area.
 
In 2011 the Order voted to admit women as full members.
 
Membership is now open to any Catholic over the age of 18 who wants to help.
Customer testimonials
Lambton County Developmental Services, Petrolia, Ontario,  wishes to thank Algarva Caravan  for our $50,000 contribution towards the Alhambra Centre in Forest Ontario, a day facility serving over 100 developmentally challenged people.
 
Pathways, Sarnia, ON appreciates the $5,000 grant made to them by Algarva Caravan  for their capital building program.
 
The Grand Bend Public School expresses its thanks to the Caravan for donating $10,000 to create a Snoozelen Room for autistic students.
